? Rally For Shalley
Welcome!

ALUMNI NOTES

In the fall of 2007, Kris Barone (1970) and Chris Young (1970) organized a group of former members of the Baldwin Highlander Choir to practice Christmas carols and sing them on the stage of the Byham Theater prior to the performance of The Christmas Carol.  It should come as no surprise that included in the repertoire of songs were the Magnificat and the Little Drummer Boy.  At the practices leading up to the performance, many of the members of the group shared their memories of Dr. Shalley.  The other Baldwin High School alumni that became known as The Singing Highlanders were: Lark Barone (1967), Steve Young (1967), Rob Barone (1969), Diane (Beynon) Landers (1970), Jim Nowalk (1970), Judi (Russo) Haas (1972), Norma McGinnis (1972), Rini (Barone) Choura (1973), Janice (Poulton) Kerr (1974), Paul Young (1974), Patty (Levis) Collopy (1980), Connor Nowalk (2005), and Ryan Russman (2005).

From the Class of 1970, Larry Boone,Pat Burns, Greg Carney, Jim Nowalk, Bud Serratore, and Chris Young, a.k.a. The Buddies, are rallying for Shalley by purchasing a seat in honor of their good friend, Bob Brennan, who was a member of the Baldwin Highlander Choir and Baldwinaires. Almost 40 years ago, Bob graced the Baldwin stage with his rendition of When Sonny Gets Blue in the theatrical production of The Man Who Came to Dinner.  Bob was completing his medical school program in 1981, when he suffered an untimely death.
